Sensei Steve and Victor are not only world class competitors but instructors who create a welcoming environment for all skill levels from a day one beginner to someone with competitive aspirations. If you're in the Lake Travis area and looking for an academy that has a welcoming family environment, instructors who are passionate, professional and patient look no further.

Victor and Steve are outstanding professionals who really focus on teaching key concepts of BJJ vs simply teaching individual moves that aren’t really connected to each other. They have really created a fantastic atmosphere for learning. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join the Six Blades community.

I had never set foot in a Jiujitsu gym before coming here and was pretty nervous going in. That being said my nerves quickly dissipate because of how welcoming an atmosphere it was. My first class led by Steve was fun, interactive and informative with students of varying skill levels. I look forward to coming back and highly recommend Six Blades for anyone interested in starting or continuing to learn Jiujitsu.

I’ve trained all over the world and the program in place at Six Blades Lake Travis is one of the best I’ve seen. The facility is run in the true martial arts style and is clean and orderly. The knowledge of the instructors (led by World Champions Victor Hugo and Steve Hargett) is incredible and students are taught every aspect of JiuJitsu through a comprehensive curriculum rather than just random positions. This is where you want to train if you want to build a complete competency in classic JiuJitsu that works. It is also a place where competitors can take their game to the next level and be a part of a team of training partners and coaches who will support you throughout the preparation phase and at tournaments.

The space is very nice and clean, has a very nice vibe I can’t describe. The coaches are very kind, serene and fun for the kids. My 7 year old tried Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the first time this week and she absolutely loved it! She had so much fun and says she wants to do it forever :)

This is truly an amazing gym. Professor Steve and Professor Victor break down the instruction to a level that anyone can understand. They both do a great job of analyzing positions and teaching every detail. Not only do they show you how to do things, they show you why, which can be just as important. Everyone is welcoming and down-to-earth. The gym is meticulously clean which is very much appreciated. It's an honor to get this level of teaching from a couple of highly decorated world champions.

My wife and I enrolled our oldest son into the children's classes, and he loved it from the very first day. In fact, we watched him blossom in ways we've never seen before in terms of focus, body comfort, discipline, and physical ability. If you have a child with lots of energy, I highly recommend Six Blades Jiu Jitsu in Lake Travis. Overall, their teaching methods for small children are gentle, fun, creative, and generally outstanding. The teachers all demonstrate calm mastery themselves and are quite friendly, approachable, and human. As an added bonus, my wife and I paid attention to the lessons and were able to turn many of them into child-parent play games at home. These teachers and this school have my highest recommendation.
